The Evolution of Clams Casino

@clammyclams spun a 25 minute mix on Benji B’s BBC Radio 1 show last week. Aptly named The Evolution of Clams Casino, it’s effectively a journey through his style including rare productions, cuts from his A$AP and Lil’ B days and some new music from Jamie XX and Spaceghost Purp. Great stuff.

Nike: Live for London

‘Live For London’
A film by Tyrone Lebon
Supported by Nike 1948.

This film is a celebration of the London set against the backdrop of the approaching summer. This is a portrait of London; its characters, its buildings, its youth, its sports, its energy, its history, and its future. This is a BIG UP to London.

Shot over a 10 day period, the film is a personal snapshot of the four corners of the capital through the eyes of 15 inspiring young Londoners at a time of year when it captures the imagination of tennis fans all over the world.

Four Sneaker Saturday

I bought 4 pairs of sneakers today. Both are new takes on classic styles.

The first is the Nike x Cole Haan Lunargrand Wingtip. This design blew me away the first time I saw it. I’ve been looking for a pair of suede desert boots or wingtips for awhile. These fit the bill, so I got two. They weren’t available at the employee store, but I ran into the homie MLO84 aka Michael Orenstein who called in a special order to the ONLY place they are sold: Cole Haan Soho.

The second style is the classic Air Huarache. The first is the hightop version with the new Volt colorway. The second is the lowtop with the Nike Free sole. I couldn’t decide so I got them both.

Jeremy Lin Eats Kobe Beef

If you haven’t heard of Jeremy Lin by now, it’s about time you did. If you aren’t able to talk about him at brunch tomorrow and at church on Sunday, you’ll feel behind the times. Kind of like Kobe felt last night when the media asked him how he was preparing:

Kobe, it’s so obvious you were lying through your teeth. You knew who Jeremy Lin was. You’ve read every article ever written about you and follow the league closer than any fan. You were probably watching his 25 / 7 / 5 against the Nets. You definitely saw Sportscenter highlights of the 28 / 8 he had in his first NBA start against Utah. Hell, even if you missed those, there’s no way you didn’t see him dismantle John Wall with 23 and 10.

The Official N**gas in Paris Video

I must be some kind of prophet. Yesterday, I said the unofficial Ni**as in Paris video would tide me over until Jay-Z and Kanye blew my mind and blow my mind they did. Looks like this video was shot entirely during their two shows in LA. It’s an amalgam of kaleidoscopic mosaics of cats, Paris architecture, lasers and black leather kilts. Killer.

More pictures after the jump.
